MAGNUSSON ADVISES ON TWO DEALS IN THE DANISH HEALTHCARE IT SECTOR
Magnusson’s Copenhagen office has been busy advising on two strategic deals in the fast developing Danish healthcare IT sector. The Danish healthcare IT sector is seeing a lot of growth with a lot of business developing welfare solutions with international application potential.
Partner Søren Brinkmann advised the sellers of longstanding client Avaleo on the sale of Avaleo to the Danish IT giant KMD. The deal sees KMD acquiring the competences, technology and customers of Avaleo.
Partner Nikolaj Juhl Hansen advised Northcap, a successful venture capital investor with a strategic focus on ICT companies, on its investment in Sekoia. Sekoia has developed an application supporting nursing homes and similar institutions with an assisted living platform. The investment will see Sekoia poised for further growth.
Søren Brinkmann says: “The Danish healthcare IT sector is one of rapid growth. Applications and technologies supporting the Danish welfare model are being developed by a range of players, from small entrepreneurial outfits to the major players in the IT field”. Nikolaj Juhl Hansen supplements: “We are eying more deals in the sector in months and years to come. There is a great appetite to do deals in this space, from both Danish and international players, so we expect more work to come”.
The deals are the last in a series of projects that Magnusson has advised on, including NSSLGlobal’s merger with ESL, and Norvestia Oyj’s investment in Idean Enterprises Oy.
